Fresh air, TAYLD, Momentum Day, Testing, etc...

Hello fine people. It is a beautiful day today! Why not take a few moments and just focus on your breathing outside in nature. Wow, just feel that beautiful nature. The Founder’s Dojo in Iwama had a wonderful feel of nature. Let’s bring that feeling of nature into our school.

This week at the Dojo:
***Monday, Today: it is Train at Your Level day in all of the classes.

***Monday, Today: Beginner’s Rally at 12 noon, and 7pm. If you are a newer adult student up to the rank of 5th kyu please make sure you come to one of these classes. It will be relevant to your progression in Aikido.

***Tuesday: Momentum Day at the Dojo: we will go through the most important material we practiced in April, techniques, principles, and the Aiki-weapons. The following 3 classes will be used for momentum practice; 12noon, 5pm youth and family class, and 6pm.

***Wednesday: Testing for the month; 5pm for the Youth and Family class, 7pm for the Adult class. If you are testing please sign up in the office beforehand.

Remember that the Deshi program starts next Monday at 4:30 for the teens, 6pm for the adults, and Tuesday at 4:30 for the youths. If anyone has any questions about the program please ask me after class.
Breathe and feel the beautiful nature that is all around us! Breathe and enjoy your Aikido practice! Vince Sensei

My Brain

APRIL 19, 2010
Good morning Aikido folks. I would like to talk about my brain today. Supposedly the right side is more analytical, and the left side is the more creative part. I guess that’s why I get confused sometimes. Ha ha. In Aikido we start with the form, and then it is our goal to develop the more creative side through freestyle exercises, and practices. A good goal is to have balance of both sides of the grey matter. Please join me this week for our journey into these practices.
This week at the Dojo:
***ALL WEEK: LEFT BRAIN/ RIGHT BRAIN AIKIDO
***Thursday: Train at Your level Day in all of the classes.
***Thursday: Intermediate seminar for the adult class at 12noon, and 7pm (at the 7pm time we will work on Randori for the second half of class.)

Next week at the Dojo:
***Monday: Train at your level day in all of the classes
***Monday: Beginner’s Rally at 12 noon, and 7pm
***Tuesday: Momentum Day, at the 5pm Family class and the 6pm adult class we will energetically go through April’s curriculum to put a smile on your brain.
***Wednesday: is Testing and Demo day: 5pm for the Youth & Family class, and 7pm for the adult class.
***Thursday: The Jamie Zimmeron class is cancelled (SORRY!), but we will have a special class that night, more details to follow!

Bring your left brain and right brain down to the Dojo for fun, Aikido, and flow! Vince Sensei

Self Defense seminars, Deshi program

Hello fine people on this wonderful day. I have a Japanese word that I would like to share with you. Ki-mochi. It means feeling, or energy feeling, the vibe of something.

The practice on the mat: Feel the energy on the mat, and in the room. Feel your own personal vibe to support in the momentum of positive energy. Before there is any physical contact, feel the vibe of the technique.

Off the mat: Be aware of the vibe at the places you visit.

This week at the Dojo:

***Monday, Today: The Deshi/ leadership program will begin. 4:30pm for the Teen program. 6pm for the Adult program. Let me know if you meet the requirements and would like to join.

***Tuesday: The Leadership program for the Youth program begins at 4:30pm for the ages of 8 to 11. Parent’s let me know if you would like to sign up your children.

***Wednesday: Train at your level day in all of the classes. Advanced seminar for adults at 12noon, and 7pm for the ranks of 2nd and 1st kyus.

***Thursday: Self Defense seminars at 5pm for the Youth and Family class, and 6pm for the Adult class. Please invite your friends, family, and anyone else that would benefit from the class. We need your help in getting out the word for these seminars! Thank you! And please attend!
